This handy cable allows control of your Kenwood transceiver by your computer.

For example, you can use remote control software like Ham Radio Deluxe or edit and backup your memory channels easily. Contest and logging software can fetch your operating frequency and mode direct from the radio. If you are working satellites, your computer can automatically track your transmit and receive frequencies and compensate for doppler shift.

One end of the cable has a 6 pin DIN plug which connects to the ACC1 socket on the radio. The other end has a USB plug which connects to the PC's USB port. The cable contains a USB to serial converter, so the radio appears as a COM port on the PC. It is designed as a USB replacement for the Kenwood IF-232C interface. (On the TS-450S/690S the ACC1 socket is on the left side panel of the case.) High quality screened cable, length approx 1.5m/5ft (if required, you can add a USB extension cable up to a total of 5m long).

The cable will also work with the following radios, but only if they have the correct Kenwood interface board installed:

This cable uses the highly regarded FTDI FT232RL chip which works with all current versions of Windows.
