• FTDI USB programming cable for Kenwood TM-V71A/E TM-D710 RC-D710 - PG-5G USB equivalent
This handy cable allows control/programming of your Kenwood transceiver by your computer, for example by using MCP-2A programming software, available free on Kenwood's website.

One end of the cable has an 8 pin mini-DIN plug which connects to the COM or PC socket on the radio. The other end has a USB plug which connects to the PC's USB port. The cable contains a USB to serial converter, so the radio appears as a COM port on the PC.
Length approx 1.7m/5ft 6ins (if required, you can add a USB extension cable up to a total of 5m long).

Our standard cable uses the SiLabs CP2102 USB to serial chipset.

This premium version uses the FTDI FT232RL chipset.

Both work with all current versions of Windows.

For more detailed information please read our USB chipset information page.

Please check the availability of suitable software for your model of radio and that the software supports USB COM ports. The TM-D710 & TM-V71 Yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TM-D710_TM-V71/ is a good place to ask questions and get advice about software.

We also sell an audio connecting cable.
