This cable enables your Kenwood radio to control your SPE Expert linear amplifier. The cable assembly has a DB15 male plug which connects to the SPE Expert's CAT socket, a 7 pin DIN plug to connect to the transceiver's REMOTE socket and a 6 pin DIN plug which connects to the transceiver's ACC1 socket. (On the TS-450S/690S the ACC1 socket is on the left side panel of the case)

Suits SPE Expert Linear amplifier models 1K-FA, 1.3K-FA, 1.5K-FA, 2K-FA and Kenwood TS-450S TS-690S TS-790 TS-850S TS-950S/DX transceivers.

The cable will also work with the following radios, but only if they have the correct Kenwood CAT interface board installed:

With IF-10A: TS-711A, TS-811A
With IF-10B: TS-940S
With IF-10C: TS-140S, TS-680S
With IF-10D: TS-50S, TS-60S
With IC-10:   TS-440S, R-5000

The following functions are available with this cable:

• PTT - The amplifier switches to transmit and back to receive at the same time as the transceiver.
• ALC - Automatically backs off the transmitter's output power when the amplifier is driven to full power.
• CAT - The amplifier is able to determine the exact frequency that the transceiver is tuned to. It then automatically switches to the correct band and if amplifier has an ATU fitted, recalls the appropriate ATU setting from memory.
