DB-15 male to USB, high quality screened (shielded) cable. Length approx 1.5m/4ft 10ins.
With this cable your SPE amplifier is able to determine the exact frequency your SDR software is tuned to. It then automatically switches to the correct band and if the amplifier has an ATU fitted, recalls the appropriate ATU setting from memory.
One end of the cable has a DB-15 male which connects to the CAT connector on the amplifier. The other end has a USB plug which connects to a USB port on the PC. The cable contains a USB to serial converter and appears as a COM (serial) port on the PC.
This cable uses the highly regarded FTDI chipset which works with all current versions of Windows and Linux.
Originally designed for Flex transceivers using the SmartSDR PC software, this cable is also suitable for any PC SDR software that can use a USB serial CAT connection.
Suits SPE Expert Linear amplifier models 1K-FA, 1.3K-FA, 1.5K-FA, 2K-FA.
For instructions on how to set up the amplifier for your transceiver correctly, please consult your amplifier's manual or contact SPE support.
For instructions on how to set up the PC software for CAT, please consult the software manual or contact the vendor for support.
Important: This cable only provides frequency information to the amplifier. You will also need PTT switching and ALC cables from the transceiver to the amplifier.
