receiving ADS-B from aircraft, a common problem can be receiver
overloading caused by strong signals from nearby transmitters (FM
broadcast, mobile phone, taxi, etc.). This can interfere with weak ADS-B
transmissions so they are not decoded. Using a high-gain antenna or LNA
(pre-amplifier) can often make things worse. This band-pass filter
reduces the level of signals outside the range of frequencies used by
ADS-B and so can greatly improve reception if you are suffering from out
of band interference.
